# Tamara’s Journey After Losing 75 kg
After losing almost 75 kg following gastric sleeve surgery, Tamara from Australia was left with significant loose skin. After years of researching clinics and following other patients’ surgery journeys, she chose to travel to Thailand with her mother for surgery at Destination Beauty.

## Q&A with Tamara
**Why did you decide to have skin removal surgery?**
Three years after having gastric sleeve surgery and losing almost 75 kg, I was left with a significant amount of loose skin. Surgery felt like the next step in completing my transformation.

**What was your experience at the hospital like?**
The staff were very responsive, attentive and helpful throughout my hospital stay, especially when it came to managing pain and making me comfortable.
**How was your recovery?**
My procedures were completed over two surgical sessions across four days. The first couple of days after my initial surgery were quite sore, but by days three and four I was feeling much better and found things more manageable.
**Why did you choose to recover in Thailand?**
As a mum of four, travelling for surgery gave me dedicated time to focus on my recovery rather than going straight back into everyday mum life at home.
**What advice would you give someone considering surgery in Thailand?**
Do your research and watch the journeys of other patients. They can be really helpful when deciding what is right for you, but remember not to directly compare your recovery or results with someone else’s. Everyone’s body, procedures and goals are different.
